Well done to all the club athletes that competed at the above championship today. The club won 4 medals across the event, highlighted by a brilliant individual and team gold. Also 6 athletes have booked their place in the west of Scotland team for next months inter districts. Today takes the total of club team medals at this event to 9 since 2021, to put this in to respective the club won 15 from 1970 to 2020
The u13 girls started the day and Millie Ashelby finished an excellent 5th place. This earns her spot for the west team. This also put her joint 5th best position in this race from a club athlete with multiple club record holder and Finnish international Hannah Anderson. Rebecca Chapman also ran finishing in 44th place.

The u13 boys finished a fine 6th team with Jack McMillan leading the team home. Jack finished 9th to book his spot on the west team, great achievement after being ill recently. He was followed home by Cameron Lucchesi 24th, Calum McCormick 43rd, Finlay Edwards 47th and Fraser Mackie 50th

Up next was the run of the day with Nina Clark taking a commanding win and leading the girls team to a superb team silver. Nina went out hard creating a 10 second gap to the rest of the field through the first small lap and maintain it all the way to finish. She also the first athlete in the club to win the u15 girls title. Zoe Baillie 7th booking her spot on team west and Sophie Crowder Wright 18th completed the silver winning team. They were followed home by Elspeth Thorpe 30th, Reeve Stuart 35th and Eva Lochrie 40th



The club only had one runner in the u15 boys with Neil Arthur finishing a respectable 31st

U17 men finished a fine 4th team led home by Ben Baillie. Ben finished 5th to book his team west spot and continue his great cross country season. He was followed home by Brian Heslop 18th, Angus Wilkinson 26th and Euan Thorpe 35th

U17 women, the club had 2 athletes with Matilda Frew earning her 5th team west spot in a row by finishing 12th. Skye Gilmour finished 15th to put herself into contention for a west of Scotland vest too.

U20 men finished 5th team led home by Aaron Thomson finishing a great 11th, he was followed home by Sam Hosie 16th and Jonathan Hunter 20th
U20 women Erin Chapman finished a fine 16th. Amy Andrew running for Strathclyde university finished a good 9th place

In the senior women’s race Kelly Baillie finished a great 39th overall and 8th vet 40, leading the team to 13th and 8th vet 40 team, she was followed home by Laura Hervas 101st, Tracy Yates 102nd and Rachael Williams 104th

In the senior men’s race the v40s team made club history winning the clubs second ever team gold at these championships. Grant Baillie took a superb individual V40 medal to lead the team home with Andrew Forteath 6th v40 and David Ross 10th V40 completing the team. The club finished 6th team overall in the senior race with Grant 20th, Andrew 35th, Patrick Mochan 36th, David Ross 44th, Jamie McCaskell 89th and Chris Watters 93rd. They were followed home by Colin 97th, John Edwards 137th, Andrew Chapman 143rd, Stuart McMillan 160th, Graeme Haddow 184th and Gordon Colvin 192nd
