What a day in the sunshine, with perfect race conditions, our athletes of all ages turned out some great performances for EKAC. There were a couple of tears, plenty smiles, lots of grit & determination & some medal bling thrown in too.
First up, our U-11 boys team of George James, Vincent Elliott, Lucas Hendry & Luke McCormick ran a great race to finish 3rd, taking bronze.

Next, our U-11 girls had two teams running in the same race. Aria Love, Brooke Stuart, Ella Whalen & Evie Fraser came 1st, taking gold whilst Evie Hilton, Karris Green, Bree Simpson & Isla Taylor put in strong performances, finishing just outside the medals.
All of our U-11’s put in amazing performances- it was the first time for some competing in track relays but it didn’t show.

For the U-13 Boys, Edward Elliott, Finlay Edwards, Calum McCormick & Max Tobin finished 3rd to win bronze. This was followed up with another bronze for Calum McCormick, Finlay Edwards & Jack McMillan in the 3x800m

U-13 girls had 2 teams in the 4x100m & 3x800m . In the 100’s, Katie Bell, Orla Gallagher, Caoimhe Gallagher & Neve Lindsay came 4th in their heat. Naomi Wallace, Ariana Syme, Rebecca Pew & Millie Ashelby ran well in their heat. Official results required to confirm final positions. In the 800’s, Millie Ashelby, Rebecca Pew & Jessica Caskie narrowly missed out on medals, finishing 4th whilst Naomi Wallace, Ariana Syme & Savannah Morrison put in a strong run finishing not too far behind.

U-15 girls just missed out on medals finishing 4th in both the 100’s and 800’s with Zoe Baillie, Nina Clark, Ava Hendry & Reeve Stuart all putting in strong runs against some top opposition.

Next up, the seniors men comprising Dan Walsh, John Edwards & Jamie Clements took on the 3x800m winning gold whilst the seniors women’s team of Aimee Anderson, Kelly Baillie & Emma Livingston picked up silver. A special mention to Kelly, Emma & Jamie who ran the Scottish 5km Champs the night before.

Finally a huge thanks to Jim Caskie & David Ashelby for volunteering, also to Mark, Clare & Adam for getting all the athletes ready to run & finally to all the parents, carers & supporters who cheered on everyone of our athletes. Most of all a huge well done to each of our youngsters.
